‘More than a football academy — a place where young people are shaped into disciplined, educated and purpose-driven individuals.
Stars of Africa
Welcome to Stars of Africa Football Academy — a youth development institution that uses football as a vehicle to develop disciplined, educated and purpose-driven young people.
Founded in 2003 by Farouk Khan and Nadim Mahmood, Stars of Africa has spent over two decades shaping young South Africans on and off the pitch.
Our graduates have gone on to play professionally in South Africa, Sweden, Portugal, England and beyond — and many more have gone on to build successful lives as educated, confident and values-driven individuals.
At Stars of Africa, football is the foundation. Leadership, education and character are the building blocks. Purpose is the outcome.
Why Stars of Africa?
FIRST CLASS COACHING
Train under the guidance of Farouk Khan — a pioneering figure in South African football development with over four decades of experience producing professional players, national representatives and young men and women of character.
PROVEN Track Record
Our development programmes have produced over 30 professional footballers — and alumni who have gone on to pursue tertiary education, careers and community leadership.
Opportunity Pathways
Stars of Africa is cultivating strong national and international networks connecting players to professional clubs, scouts, educational institutions and mentorship opportunities. The pathway does not end at football.
National Players Developed
Developing Players. Building People.
22 Stars of Africa graduates have gone on to represent South Africa — 8 at full international level for Bafana Bafana, 14 across the national youth divisions. Dozens play professionally in leagues at home and abroad.
Behind every cap and every contract is a young person we helped shape — on the pitch, in the classroom and in life.
Behind every professional career is a young person who was first shaped at Stars of Africa — through football, through discipline and through a belief in their own potential.
