Academy Regulations
Rules are intended to ensure the safety and welfare of players and the smooth functioning at the Stars of Africa Football Academy. All players are expected to abide by them. Good manners, a sense of responsibility and tidiness are expected from players at all times on and off the field and especially when representing the Stars of Africa Football Academy away from the Academies premises.
SERIOUS OFFENCES FOR WHICH EXPULSION OR SUSPENSION WILL DEFINITELY BE CONSIDERED APPROPRIATE:
- Any girl found in the rooms.
- Possession of a weapon, such as a knife or blade etc.
- Possession or concealment of fire-making materials such as matches and lighters.
- Open defiance to a senior player and member of staff.
- Fighting.
- Swearing.
- Bullying.
- Sending abusive or inappropriate text messages or emails to players or staff
- Any action that endangers fellow players or Academies property
- Leaving the Academy without permission
- Behaviour that is inconsistent with the well-being and reputation of the Academy
- Stealing (Please note that deliberately hiding property constitutes stealing)
- Vandalism (including graffiti)
- Smoking, drinking alcohol or possession of drugs.
GENERAL RULES
- Good manners, Punctuality and a high standard of behaviour are required at all times. (Always Greet)
- Players should be neat and tidy.
- Lost kit will be paid for by the player responsible.
- Respect Seniority and fellow teammates.
- Players are encouraged Not to swap property.
- Any property not belonging to you, found at the Academy must be handed in to the Coaches.
- All accidents/incidents should be reported immediately.
- Change Rooms must be left clean and neat.
ELECTRONIC DEVICES:
- No Mobile Phones permitted in the Dining room while eating.
- No Mobile Phones permitted during Study Time.
- No Mobile Phones permitted after lights out which is 22H00.
- PlayStation in the week is not permitted.
SCHOOL:
- Homework/studying must be completed daily.
- Preparation for School to be done the night before.
- Players must be early for school.
- Parents must please keep coaches informed regarding school results and work hand in hand to assist player in keeping grades up.
- Players who arrive early at training are welcome to do their homework/studying in the clubhouse before training.
PLAYERS USING PUBLIC TRANSPORT:
- Please use safe routes while travelling to training and if possible, travel in groups.
- Remember that you’re an ambassador for the academy and must wear the badge with pride.
- Try to perhaps arrange a lift club with parents to make travelling easier and safer.
THREE MONTH PROBATION PERIOD:
- All players registered at the academy are automatically put on a 3 month (Quarterly) probationary period.
- If performance at school or on the football field regresses or behaviour is not in line with the academy practices, we reserve the right to terminate agreement with player and hand him his clearance, thus expelling him from the programme. (This will be a last resort if intervention has no result)
UNIFORM:
- Players should always be neat and tidy.
- Uniform/Kit/Boots needs to be kept cleaned at all times.
- If uniform is lost, it is the players responsibility to have it replaced immediately.
- Failure to wear the correct kit for training will result in player missing that specific session. (Marked Absent)
- All Kit needs to be labelled.
SOCIAL MEDIA:
- As a player of the academy, you are automatically an ambassador. Please remember this when posting pictures or status updates.
- Pictures displaying negativity such as pictures posing with alcohol, guns etc is not the behaviour of a future professional sportsman and will initiate disciplinary actions against you.
PAYMENT OPTIONS:
- Training fee is paid in advance, meaning you pay in the beginning of the month for the month ahead.
- Payment will be deducted on the 1st of every month.
- Please make sure that the correct Reference is used. Players Name and Surname (or initial and surname), Age Group. It creates an administration nightmare when “academy” or “stars of Africa” etc is used as a Reference. We also for example have 4 Andile’s in different age groups at the academy and that’s why the surname and age group is so important.
- Not allowing players to train is a last resort and not our aim but players who’s fees are not paid on time will not be allowed to join training until outstanding fees are settled.
- Outstanding fees will have to be settled when requesting a clearance.

I WILL:
- Play for my own enjoyment, not just to please a coach or parent.
- Play hard, but never try to hurt my opponent.Always respect the principles of Fair Play.
- Play and train to improve and have fun..
- Not use foul language or lose my temper when things don’t go our wayand do my best not to lose my temper.
- Be punctual and on time for all activities.
- Always show respectand humility to my fellow human being.
- Strive to conduct myself as a true professional on and off the field.
- Shake hands with the other team and referee at the end of the game.
- Win with humility and lose with dignity
I understand that if I do not follow the Code, any/all of the following actions may be taken by the academy.
I MAY BE:
- Left out of starting line up if I’m late for games.
- Issued with a verbal warning by the academy Director.
- Required to meet with a club official.
- Required to apologies to my team-mates, the other team, referee or team manager.
- Suspended from training.
- Expelled for breaking rules.
Parents code of conduct
We all bear a collective responsibility to set a good example and help provide a positive environment in which children can learn and enjoy the game. Play your part and observe The Academies Code of Conduct for spectators at all times.
I WILL:
- Remember that children play for fun and for THEIR enjoyment.
- Never ridicule, humiliate or shout at players.
- Not place emphasis on “Winning at all Cost”
- Respect the Referee’s decisions even when I don’t agree with them.
- Appreciate good play from whatever team it comes from.
- Not interfere with or distract players (do not sit too close to the sidelines or technical area)
- Respect the coach and allow him to dohisjob and not confuse the players by telling them what to do.
- Approach the coach and ask for a sit down with him and Director of Coaching if I have a concern.
- Support positively. When players make a mistake, I will offer them encouragement not criticism.
- Never engage in, or tolerate, offensive, insulting, or abusive language or behavior.
- Make sure that my child is punctual and on time for training sessions as well as matches.
- Remember that the coach will determine playing positions, and when players are substituted.
- Not have private meetings with other parents about my concerns which can create unnecessary divisions, I will rather seek to make the academy a part of my extended family.
I understand that if I do not follow the Code, any/all of the following actions may be taken by the academy.
I MAY BE:
- Issued with a verbal warning by the academy Director.
- Required to meet with a club official.
- Obliged to leave the match venue by the club.
- Requested by the club not to attend future games.
- Required to leave the club along with any dependents.
- Obliged to explain to my child why he wont play in a fixture if we are late for a match.

The Stars of Africa Football Academy are not responsible for any injury (or loss of property) or death to any person suffered while participating or in any way involved with the Stars of Africa Football Academy.
Parent/Guardian authorization
I verify that my child has been checked by a licensed physician prior to attending the Stars of Africa Football Academy and is physically able to participate fully. I agree to allow my child to be treated by a licensed trainer and/or physician while attending the Academy, and assume all risks resulting from the participation in all activities of the Academy. I agree to hold harmless the Stars of Africa Football Academy, it’s trustees, and officers of any and all liabilities, actions, courses of action, claims and demands of every kind and nature whatsoever, which may arise in connection with or resulting from my child participating in any of the Academy activities.
PaYMENT ACKNOWLEDGMENT (ACCOMMODATION PLAYERS)
I hereby acknowledge to pay the R 2 500.00 (Two Thousand Five Hundred Rand) registration fee and R 5 000.00 per month to the Stars of Africa Football Academy for 2023 accommodation, meals, transportation to and from school and training, living costs and club fees. I am aware that If I fail to make payment, my agreement with the Academy is nullified. Registration fee will cover kit and administration costs for the year. If payment is not made in the beginning of each month, player cannot continue training until account is up to date or will be given 1 weeks notice to find alternate accommodation (if living at academy premises). Also note that fees for accommodation is payable for 12 months from January to December. E.g. You still pay rent for your house when going on holiday.
PaYMENT ACKNOWLEDGMENT (TRAVELLING PLAYERS)
I hereby acknowledge to pay the R 2 500.00 (Two Thousand Five Hundred Rand) registration fee and R 600.00 per month to the Stars of Africa Football Academy for 2023 registration, training and club fees. I am aware that If I fail to make payment, my agreement with the Academy is nullified. Registration fee will cover kit and administration costs for the year. If payment is not made in the beginning of each month, player cannot continue training until account is up to date.
Participation in academy authorization
I hereby give permission for my child to participate in the forthcoming football programme by Stars of Africa Football Academy (“the Academy”), and to go on approved Academy tours and excursions related to such sporting activities.
I hereby indemnify and hold the Academy, its agents, representatives and coaches harmless against any claim or demand arising from the death of or injury to my child or any loss of or damage to property, of whatsoever nature and howsoever sustained, including consequential loss, arising from or occasioned by my child’s participation in any such sporting or extra-curricular activities and/or such tours and excursions. (This clause includes travelling to school and back)
I agree that, if in the opinion of the Director of the Academy an emergency has arisen and medical treatment be deemed necessary for my child, the Director of the Academy shall have the authority (which is hereby delegated to the extent such delegation may be required) to consent to such medical treatment, including surgical intervention, on my behalf.
I accept that all precautions will be taken to ensure the safety and welfare of my child and that I will be held responsible for the payment of medical and/or hospital accounts where applicable.
As far as I am aware my child is physically capable of participating in the said sporting or extracurricular activities and he is in good health. However, the persons responsible should please note the POINTS STATED IN THE MEDICAL CLEARANCE ATTACHED.
Payment (students with monthly fees) WII be DEDUCTED before the beginning of the new month for 12 Months and in advance i.e. you pay for the upcoming month before development of your child commences, failure to conform to this regulation will nullify the contract and the student will be sent home at the cost of his parents/guardian irrespective of when the default occurs.

Stars of Africa reserves the right to make decisions with regard to your child’s development and selection for provincial as well as national teams while he’s a part of the academy as our development process and culture always takes your child’s best interests to heart first.
Acceptance to the academy is on condition that the student furnishes us with a valid Identity Book as well as a Passport (International Tours) and 4 ID photos for registration.
Schooling is the number one priority at the academy and is the only aspect that we put before your child’s sporting development. If for whatever reason, your child fails a standard in school and has to repeat the year, Stars of Africa will not subsidise his school fees for the year he is repeating. (Scholarship Students)
Please make sure that all valuables are kept at home or if it is necessary for the student to bring a valuable item along to the academy e.g. cellphone, please make sure that it is kept in a safe place or with one of the staff members as the academy will not be held responsible for loss of or damage to any personal items belonging to the student/s. (He shares a room with 3-6 other students)
Stars of Africa is a High Performance institute and we expect the highest standard in all aspects of your child’s development. We reserve the right to terminate our contract with any player if the standards of the key performance areas set by the Stars of Africa Academy are not met. We assess our players on their educational, technical, tactical, physical, psychological and social improvement. (KPA’s)
Recordings/Pictures of games and players will be used by the academy on our social media platforms for advertising purposes (Player Profiles or Team Videos).

NOTE: Your child will always be kept in a safe and secure environment; the academy driver has a valid PDP (passenger delivery permit). We strive to develop an individual who is positive, determined and strong-minded and an asset to society, not just a great footballer. Please make sure that your child comes with the required equipment for his football and educational development.
